World Bank – Private Sector Development Project in Tajikistan: Development of SCISPM staff capabilities and expertise
June 2010 – February 2011
The Pragma Corporation was awarded a contract with the World Bank to build institutional capacity of State Committee for Investment and State Property Management (SCISPM) to enable this state agency to better fulfill its mandate to promote the development of the private sector in Tajikistan. The SCISPM is responsible for implementing measures to improve Tajikistan's business environment, attracting foreign direct investment into the country and managing state-owned property.
The SCISPM also oversees the implementation of a series of business environment reforms, including the elimination of administrative barriers to business entry and operation and various legal and regulatory reforms facilitating private sector development. Pragma established a training unit/training coordinator position within the SCISPM and built the capacity of the SCISPM in two key areas such as investment promotion and regulatory & business environment reforms.
