USAID Management Support and Technical Analysis Services Project (USAID/MSTAS)

2013–2018

Pragma provided comprehensive knowledge management services to USAID’s Africa Bureau, advising on performance monitoring, evaluation, research, planning, communications, and outreach for all facets of the Africa Bureau’s Office of Sustainable Development, which supports countries across Sub-Saharan Africa. As part of this larger effort, we assisted with the development of a cross-cutting strategy covering agriculture, conflict mitigation, health, education, economic growth, energy, environment, governance, and trade.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning

The USAID Trade and Investment Hubs are the main U.S. Government platforms for deepening the U.S.-Africa trade relationship. They work on the ground in East, West, and Southern Africa to reduce regional trade barriers, promote trade under the African Growth and Opportunity Act, and attract investment that drives inclusive economic growth.

Because each Hub operates autonomously, with different reporting styles, we provided critical knowledge management services and technical assistance to monitor and evaluate continent-wide achievement statistics and support the design of cross-cutting initiatives.

Uncovered Continent-Wide Impact

$600M+ in Hub-facilitated investments

$1B+ in Hub-facilitated exports

40K+ jobs facilitated by the Hubs

For every $1 of public money spent, the Hubs leveraged $9 in private investment
