Dr. Ibrahim Alkarasneh

With more than 30 years of experience in the fields of banking and finance, in particular Islamic banking, Dr. Ibrahim Alkarasneh’s other areas of expertise include fiscal policy, financial reform, exchange rate policy and corporate governance. Prior to joining Pragma, Dr. Alkarasneh worked for the Arab Monetary Fund (2004-2020) where he led a capacity building team at its Institute of Capacity Building.  Dr. Alkarasneh conducted many training programs in Islamic banking regulations; and as a member of the Risk Management Group (2003-2004) he drafted Islamic banking risk management regulations and guidelines issued by the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB). In addition, he served as a board member for two Jordanian public corporations: the National Petroleum Company, and the Urban and Housing Development Corporation. Dr. Ibrahim Alkarasneh holds a PhD in Finance from Birmingham University in UK, and MSc in International Banking and Financial Studies from Heriot-Watt University in Scotland.
