Dr. Mongi Safra

An expert in fiscal and monetary policies, especially in emerging economies, Dr. Mongi Safra works with Pragma on its electricity sector support in Libya and technical assistance to the Central Bank of Libya. Dr. Safra served as a member of the government of Tunisia for a decade, then ambassador, and later counselor to the President of the Republic of Tunisia. He designed and managed innovative programs and project initiatives in the field of applied scientific research and technology, and he has been in charge of the coordination of economic policies and the follow-up and evaluation of public policies. Dr. Safra holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Michigan, a Masters in Statistics from the University of Michigan, and has been a professor of Economic Theory and International Economics.
