Dr. Osan Bahurmiz

Dr. Osan Bahurmiz has many years of experience working within the fisheries values chain providing technical assistance and capacity building on seafood quality and technology, and fishery product development. Since joining Pragma in 2019, Dr. Bahurmiz has supported program efforts to develop Yemen’s fisheries sector by designing and providing technical and training assistance to seafood processors, coastal women, and other fisheries-related businesses. Before joining Pragma in 2019, he was Associate Professor of Seafood Science and Technology at Hadhramout University in Yemen, where he had earned his Bachelor’s degree. Dr. Bahurmiz has a PhD in Food Technology (his thesis was in Seafood Technology) and a Master’s degree in Aquatic Biology (Aquaculture) from the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Malaysia.
